The service strives to support the sustainable transition from secure, institutional settings to a step-down community placement. It is an ideal provision for service users who have been detained under the Mental Health Act or released from the prison service and are now ready for their first steps in returning to independent living.
The home is located in the Mendip Hills, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, and forms part of our wider farm development which comprises of two-hundred and fifty acres of private farmland. The rural location makes this a safe and relaxed environment, ideally suited to people who will benefit from being away from the stresses of modern city life, while they receive the support needed to prepare them for a return to their local communities.
Alongside the ten rooms, the home comprises of a large, shared lounge with adjoining games room equipped with a full size pool table and dart board for socialising, and a large communal dining room featuring spectacular views across the farm.
Service users living at Bendalls Farm are provided with the opportunity to work on the farm, learning new skills and developing confidence, responsibility and independence while being paid a therapeutic wage.
