Priddy Farmhouse forms part of The Grange CQC registration but is run as an individual service, Priddy Farmhouse is a residential care home setting that provides personal centred care to meet the needs of a group of gentlemen who display complex and challenging behaviours, including individuals that require support with mental health needs.
The building, which was originally an old farmhouse, has been renovated and converted into spacious high quality individual flats, and was opened in September 2016 following registration with the Care Quality Commission. There are five individual flats within the farmhouse, each containing a kitchen, living area, bathroom and bedroom, and as standard come fully furnished, are totally equipped and ready to be personalised to the individual’s own taste.
We provide a 24 hour needs led package of care, offering Service Users a variety of structured activities and programmes, as well as supporting them in their move towards a greater level of independence. Our highly trained staff support Service Users to budget money, plan and cook meals, keep their flats clean and attend professional appointments.
In addition, the Service Users that live here are actively encouraged to attend Bradbury House Day Services as part of their care package, helping to further develop the individual’s independence. Working alongside staff, they ensure the up-keep of the farm through jobs such as working with and feeding the animals, planting and tending crops, dry stone walling, and completing farm maintenance tasks around the site.
As well as the traditional farm jobs day-care has diversified into other areas, offering a host of other meaningful, work based activities ranging from computer sessions and fitness groups, through to arts and craft activities such as glass blowing and art sessions for the more creative individual.
Service Users are not only rewarded by seeing the fruits of their labour literally grow – they also receive a therapeutic wage for all their hard work, input and creativity.
We are located just 4 miles north of the historic City of Wells, set aloft the beautiful Mendip Hills within the grounds of a 250 acre farm with stunning countryside views. There is a local bus service that individuals can use either independently or with support to access the local community based on the individual’s needs. We also support individuals with the use of a company vehicle to access the community, attend outside placements, visit friends and family or to just go out and enjoy life!
