Meadowlands was opened in September 2015, and is a 7 bed residential unit which is under the Grange Registration but run as an individual service. Meadowlands is a specialist residential home for adult males between the age of 18-65 with mental health needs and learning disabilities, who require person-centred support to develop their independence and the key life skills required for living in the community independently.
Meadowlands is located on a 260 acre farm with miles of footpaths and walkways through the working farm which also provides therapeutic work placements through the Day Service, which offers a range of groups and activities including caring for animals, horticulture and environmental preservation projects.
Situated on local bus route which connects Bristol to Wells/Street and Glastonbury, the rural location of Meadowlands makes this a safe and relaxed environment within easy reach of the surrounding city of Wells and other local amenities. Shepton Mallet is only a short car journey away.
Dedicated highly trained staff are on site 24-7 to ensure that Service Users are safe and receive the support needed to plan and cook meals, keep their flats clean, improve their budgeting skills, and build on the strengths of the individuals to become more independent and confident with their everyday life skills.
Meadowlands consists of 7 spacious self-contained flats, each containing a kitchen, lounge, wet room and bedroom. Furnished and decorated to the needs and choice of the individual, they ensure that all needs of the service users are met and a homely environment is provided. As with all Bradbury House Limited units, Meadowlands provides a needs-led package of care tailored to the individual and centred on developing skills and providing meaningful and work-based activities through the on-site Day Services.
