Located at the Priddy end of the Farm, the Quantock Centre offers our service users the opportunity to engage in not only fun arts and craft activities, but also activities that promote team work and confidence building, whilst still developing their life skills and independence. As with all the Centres within the Day-Care Service, they have a selection of animals that the service users are responsible for looking after on a day to day basis, giving the Service Users a sense of responsibility and ownership to ensure that the animals are fed and watered daily and mucked out when required.
The groups based in the Quantock Centre often go for walks on the numerous nature trails that we have on the Farm, spotting the farm animals and any changes to the environment through the seasonal progression. Inside the Quantock Centre we have various craft projects which include candle making and candle rolling, seasonal gifts and glass blowing.
We also encourage service users to develop their numeracy and reading and writing skills with money counting exercises and games such as bingo, all of which work to promote independent living and developing skills in a fun and relaxing way.
